C

A temporary storage space or memory that allows fast access to data.

In more technical sense, a cache is a small amount of faster, more expensive memory used to improve the performance of recently or frequently accessed data. Cached data is stored temporarily in an accessible storage media that's local to the cache client and separate from the main storage. Cache is commonly used by the central processing unit (CPU), applications, web browsers and operating systems.

Cloud storage is an alternative to storing data on a computer’s physical storage. Information stored “on the cloud” is kept on remote servers that can be accessed anywhere via the Internet.

CPU stands for the Central Processing Unit. It is the processing chip that serves as the "brains" of a device that interprets (or processes) the digital instructions provided by applications.

D

It is composed of a desktop computer, monitor, and input devices, namely, keyboard and mouse.

A device driver is a small program that allows a peripheral device such as a printer or scanner to connect to your PC.

In the context of computer networks, a domain is a set of computers on a network that are managed as a unit.

In the context of the Internet, a domain or domain name is used to identify resources such as websites and email services. It's what comes after "@" in an email address, or after "www." in a web address. For example, in the address https://www.up.edu.ph and email address username@up.edu.ph, the domain name is up.edu.ph.

According to wikipedia.org, a domain name is a string that identifies a realm of administrative autonomy, authority or control within the Internet. Domain names are used in various networking contexts and for application-specific naming and addressing purposes. In general, a domain name identifies a network domain, or an Internet Protocol (IP) resource, such as a personal computer used to access the Internet, or a server computer. Domain names are often used to identify services provided through the Internet, such as websites and email services.

R

Random Access Memory (RAM) is the hardware component used to store data that is actively being used by a processor. When needed, information flows to RAM storage from long-term secondary storage—typically a hard drive.

S

SSL, or secure sockets layer, is a protocol that allows Internet users to send encrypted messages across the Internet. It is generally used when transmitting confidential information (e.g. personal data or credit card details). A web address that begins with "https" indicates that an SSL connection is in use.

An SSL certificate is a digital certificate that authenticates a website's identity and enables an encrypted connection. Without this certificate installed, the webite's content is exposed to hacking.

A network switch is an equipment that allows two or more IT devices, such as computers, to communicate with one another. Connecting multiple IT devices together creates a communications network. Compute, print, server, file storage, Internet access, and other IT resources can be shared across the network.
