Additional Information about the STS Online and eUP email address credentials
The UP STS Online (Socialized Tuition System), a project of the UP System, is now accepting online application from upperclassmen students. For UP Manila, the scheduled application period dates are June 2-8 and 23-24, 2014. To apply online, upperclassmen should login at htpps://sts.up.edu.ph using their student eUP email account credentials (email@example.com and password).
Please note that the eUP email account credentials (firstname.lastname@example.org and password) is different from the SAIS credentials, CRS credentials (student email@example.com) and UPM mail credentials (firstname.lastname@example.org). The eUP credentials and SAIS credentials are created by UP System. The CRS credentials and the UPM mail accounts are administered by UPM IMS. The UPM IMS may only reset the passwords of eUP mail account.
The eUP email account credentials, created by eUP were distributed to the UP Manila students several months ago, through their respective Office of the College Secretary. All upperclassmen students may apply at STS Online (htpps://sts.up.edu.ph) using their student eUP email account credentials (email@example.com and password).
During the first scheduled date of STS application for UPM upperclassmen students (June 2-8, 2014), the UPM IMS was swamped with questions and request regarding eUP mail account credentials needed to login to STS. As of June 7, 2014, there were around 700 requests (in person or through email) received. Most requests were for resetting of their passwords. A few requests were for creation of new email accounts.
The IMS estimates that only less than a thousand of upperclassmen students of UP Manila will have filed their online STS application after June 2-8, 2014 period. Potential problems are expected once the remaining thousands of students would apply during the last 2 days of application period on June 23-24, 2014. To mitigate these problems, the IMS suggest the following measures:
1. The upperclassmen students of UP Manila should secure their active eUP email credentials as soon as possible before June 23, 2014. They should inquire from the OCS if their email credentials are available:
a. If the email account is not available, they should request for creation of new eUP email accounts through email addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
b. If the account exists, they should try to open their eUP google mail account at http://mail.google.com using their eUP email credentials. If they have problems with opening the email account, they should email IMS and request for resetting of password.
The student should include in the email request, an attached scanned or photo copy of the students ID or latest Form 5.
As a matter of policy, the IMS will facilitate requests regarding eUP email account credentials during the STS Online application period. During office hours, requests for resetting of passwords are immediately attended to. For creation of new accounts, the IMS will forward the request to eUP in Diliman.
2. Computers will be made available to students to use for STS Online application at the offices of the IMS, UP Manila libraries, OUR and OSA during the June 23-24, 2014 application period.
